What does “raw” honey mean?
It has not been pasteurised or heavily filtered. It is strained to remove wax and debris, then jarred — nothing added, nothing heated.
My honey has gone solid — is it still good?
Yes. Crystallisation is normal in raw honey and varies by floral source. Stand the jar in warm water to soften it; avoid boiling, which drives off the aroma.
Can babies have honey?
No. Honey should not be given to infants under 12 months because of the risk of infant botulism. This applies to all honey, raw or not.
What is Sidr honey?
Honey from bees foraging on the Sidr (jujube) tree, mainly in Yemen and the surrounding region. It is dark, thick and among the most prized honeys, which is reflected in the price.
