Should I take a supplement during pregnancy?
Ask your midwife or GP. They know your circumstances, your bloods and your history, and that is not a question we can sensibly answer from a shop.
Why can't I take my normal multivitamin?
Ordinary multivitamins are not formulated with pregnancy in mind and some contain vitamin A at levels that are not appropriate. Speak to your midwife before continuing with anything you were already taking.
Is cod liver oil suitable?
Cod liver oil is high in vitamin A, which is why it is generally not recommended during pregnancy. The prenatal omega-3 products are formulated differently. Check with your midwife.
Can I take these while breastfeeding?
Some are intended to be continued afterwards and some are not. The pack will say, and your midwife or health visitor can tell you what is sensible for you.
