Equal Exchange trades directly with small-scale farmer co-operatives rather than through conventional supply chains, and has done since long before ethical sourcing became a marketing line.
The coffee and tea are organic and fairly traded, with the co-operative and country of origin usually named on the pack — which is more traceability than most brands offer.
Coffees run from lighter roasts to the darker Dark City Roast, in ground and bean formats, plus decaf for anyone avoiding caffeine.
The tea side covers black and speciality teas, again organic and fairly traded. Italian-style roasts are available for anyone using a stovetop or espresso maker.
We have sold fairly traded coffee since 1988 and keep both ground and bean versions rather than only one.
