We started as a wholefood shop in 1988 and this is still the heart of it. Head into cooking ingredients for the store cupboard, tea and drinks for what goes in the cup, or wholefoods for nuts, grains and pulses.

Most of this range is certified organic by the Soil Association or an equivalent body, with the certifier printed on the pack. That is a legal standard covering how the crop was grown and what was allowed near it - not a word a marketing department chose.

Infinity Foods has supplied organic wholefoods out of Brighton for decades and is the reason so much of this range carries their name. Biona and Clearspring work to the same standard across European and Japanese lines respectively.

We are a small shop and cannot carry everything, so the range is the result of forty-odd years of deciding what is worth the shelf space. Short ingredient lists, recognisable processes, and producers who have been doing it long enough to be consistent.

Meridian's nut butters are a fair example: peanuts, and sometimes salt. Nothing else in the jar, which is harder to find than it should be.

Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and no-added-sugar lines run right through this range and can be isolated with the filters above.

For a serious allergy, always read the pack itself. Recipes and 'may contain' warnings change between batches, and the label in your hand is the one that counts.

FAQ

Is everything here organic?

Most of it, but not all. Organic lines carry a certification mark and the certifier's name on the pack, and you can filter to organic only using the filters above.

How fresh is the stock?

We turn stock over steadily and everything is sold well within date, with the best-before printed on the pack. If anything arrives close to date, tell us and we will put it right.

Do you deliver food and supplements together?

Yes - one order, one delivery. Free UK delivery over £40, and orders placed before midday Monday to Friday are aimed for same-day dispatch.

What is the difference between organic and natural?

Organic is a certified standard with a named certifier on the pack. Natural is not regulated in the same way and can mean very little. Look for the certification mark rather than the adjective.
