Is agave nectar healthier than sugar?
It is still a sugar and should be treated as one. It is sweeter by volume, so recipes need less, and it dissolves easily in cold liquid — but it is not a free pass.
What is the difference between virgin and refined coconut oil?
Virgin oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconut and keeps the smell and taste. Refined is deodorised, so it is neutral and has a higher smoke point. Groovy’s is virgin.
Why has my coconut oil gone solid?
Coconut oil sets below about 24°C and melts above it. Solid or liquid makes no difference to quality — it is just room temperature.
Can I bake with agave?
Yes, though it browns faster than sugar and adds liquid. As a rough guide use about three-quarters the quantity and drop the oven temperature slightly.
