Should I buy whole or ground spices?
Whole for anything you use often and care about - the aroma lasts far longer. Ground for convenience, bought in smaller amounts and replaced more frequently.
How long do dried herbs last?
Ground spices are best within six months to a year; whole spices two to three years; dried leafy herbs about a year. They lose aroma rather than becoming unsafe.
Are these organic?
A large part of the range is, with the certifier named on the pack, and you can filter to organic only using the filters above.
Why is the aroma stronger than supermarket herbs?
Usually turnover and packaging. These are packed in smaller runs and sold faster, so they spend less time sitting under shop lights losing their volatile oils.
