Where does resveratrol come from?
It occurs in grape skins, but most supplement resveratrol is extracted from Japanese knotweed because the yield is much higher.
Is red wine a good source?
The amount in wine is far smaller than commonly assumed, and not a sensible reason to drink more of it.
What is NMN?
A separate compound sold alongside resveratrol in some products. It also has no permitted health claim.
Who should avoid it?
Anyone taking anticoagulants or due surgery should speak to their GP first. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
