Rutin is a flavonoid – one of the large family of coloured plant compounds that includes quercetin, which it is chemically related to. Buckwheat is the richest ordinary source, and it also occurs in citrus pith and asparagus.

It has been sold as a supplement for a very long time and has a steady following. There is no permitted health claim attached to it, and we are not going to supply one.

300 tablets at 60mg is a large count and works out well per tablet – close to a year at one a day. That is a reasonable way to buy something taken steadily over a long period.

Rutin often appears alongside vitamin C in combination products, since the two occur together in fruit. This one is rutin alone.

Take it with food. If you take anticoagulant medication or are due surgery, speak to your GP first – flavonoids are worth checking on in that context.

Not one to start in pregnancy or while breastfeeding without advice. Ask a pharmacist if you take anything prescribed.
