Salt of the Earth makes deodorants based on mineral salts rather than the aluminium compounds used in conventional antiperspirants. The range is free from parabens and alcohol, and much of it is unscented or lightly scented with essential oils.
It is one of the most established natural deodorant brands in the UK, and the one customers most often move to first when they decide to change.
The range covers spray, stick, roll-on and crystal formats, in unscented and lightly scented versions. Which suits you is mostly about preference — sprays dry fastest, sticks travel best.
Refills are available for several lines, which brings the cost down and cuts packaging if you have settled on a format.
We have stocked natural deodorants since long before they were mainstream, and we keep the full spread of formats so you can try more than one.

This is the important distinction. A deodorant addresses odour; an antiperspirant reduces sweating. Mineral deodorants are deodorants — they will not stop you sweating, and expecting them to is the usual reason people conclude they do not work.
Apply to clean, slightly damp skin, and give it a moment to dry. Many people go through an adjustment period of a week or two when switching from an antiperspirant. If skin becomes sore, stop and try an unscented version.
FAQ
Will it stop me sweating?
No. It is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant — it addresses odour rather than perspiration. Nothing in the natural deodorant category will stop sweating.
Does it contain aluminium?
It does not contain aluminium chlorohydrate, the compound used in conventional antiperspirants. The full ingredients are listed on each pack.
How do I apply it?
To clean, slightly damp skin, allowing a moment to dry. Applying to dry skin makes it less effective.
Is there an adjustment period?
Often, of a week or two, when coming off an antiperspirant. It is worth persisting through that before deciding.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
The unscented versions are the safer starting point. If skin becomes sore, stop and check the ingredients.
