This Rose Absolute features 100% pure and natural Rosa Centifolia, expertly diluted to 5% in lightweight coconut oil for immediate use. Rose has been highly prized for centuries, with over 10,000 types of cultivated rose extensively used in toiletries for both men and women.
Rosa Centifolia and its close relatives are cultivated widely in Morocco to produce rose concrete, from which this absolute is extracted. The product is also known as "rose de mai absolute". Two main extraction methods exist: solvent extraction of a concrete to produce an absolute, and distillation to produce an essential oil. Production of an absolute gives a better yield, while distillation gives a much finer fragrance.
The yield of absolute from Rosa Centifolia is somewhat higher than for the Turkish and Bulgarian Rosa Damascena, whereas the yield of distilled oil is somewhat lower. This is why absolutes commonly come from Morocco, while distilled oils typically come from Turkey and Bulgaria.
Pre-diluted in coconut oil, a wonderfully light moisturising carrier oil, this Rose Absolute can be used directly on the skin as a perfume or combined with other oils as a massage or bath blend. The 5% dilution makes it safe and convenient for immediate application without further preparation.
Try blending 6 drops of Rose Absolute 5% Dilution with 1 drop of Patchouli and 2 drops of Benzoin and add to the water for a warm, pampering bath. The absolute works beautifully in aromatherapy applications, personal fragrances, and skincare preparations.
Do not use in the first four months of pregnancy.
