Herb Pharm make this without alcohol, using vegetable glycerine, which is the reason to choose it over a standard tincture.

The extract is certified organic ashwagandha root, Withania somnifera, grown in the USA, at an extraction rate of 175mg of herb per 0.7ml and a herb to menstruum ratio of 1:4. The other ingredients are organic vegetable glycerine and distilled water.

Most ashwagandha sold in the UK is a capsule of powdered root or a standardised extract. A glycerine-based liquid is a different proposition: it can be measured to whatever amount suits, and mixed into a drink.

Shake well, then add one squeeze of the dropper bulb to a small glass of water or juice, two or three times a day, ideally between meals.

The glycerine gives it a mild sweetness rather than the sharpness of an alcohol extract.

Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor first if you take thyroid medication or sedatives.
