LONG DESCRIPTION
Names that arrive three seconds late. Walking into a room and losing the reason. If that is why you are here, you are in very old company.
Brahmi is the herb that comes up when people go looking. In Ayurveda it belongs to the herbs of the mind, and it has been written about more than almost any other. Students and scholars have taken it for centuries, which is where its reputation comes from.

The plant, and where it grows
It's a small creeping plant with fleshy leaves that grows in wet ground across the subcontinent, which is why Ayurveda also calls it Jalanimba, the bitter one that grows in water. In English it's sometimes sold as water hyssop. The tradition calls it cool and quiet, and classes it as medhya, its word for a herb of the mind.

Brahmi and Bacopa monnieri
If you've been searching for Bacopa monnieri, this is it. Brahmi is the Indian name, taken from Brahma, and Bacopa is the botanical one. Plenty of people only know one of them.

The whole plant, stem and leaf
The whole plant is shade dried and ground, stem and leaf together, at 500mg a capsule. It's taken over months rather than weeks, which is how it has always been used.

Ayurvediq began on a turmeric farm in India. Talia and Graham went out to see where it grew, came back with a good deal more than turmeric, and the range grew from there. We still work with the same growing communities. If you would like to know more about a particular herb, or which of these might suit you, write to us at support@ayurvediq.com. Where these come from is the part we know inside out.
