Formula 3 Cough Syrup Berry 120ml

This is a berry-flavoured herbal syrup for children, bottled in glass rather than plastic.

It contains Umckaloabo, Pelargonium sidoides, with wild cherry bark, European elderberry, buckwheat honey, elderberry extract, citric acid and purified water.

Buckwheat honey is the notable ingredient. It is much darker and stronger than ordinary honey, and is the variety traditionally used in preparations of this kind rather than a generic blossom honey.

Pelargonium sidoides is a South African plant with a long history of traditional use, and it appears here as a herbal ingredient in a food supplement.

Child Life set the amount by age: one teaspoon every three hours for children of two to four, one to two teaspoons for those of five to eleven.

Contains honey, so it is not suitable for infants under twelve months.

The glass bottle is worth noting: most children's syrups come in plastic.
