Chyawanprash 250g

Chyawanprash is one of the oldest formulations in ayurveda, and this is a traditional preparation rather than a modernised one.

The base is jaggery and ghee, with amalaki, also called amla or Indian gooseberry, as the principal herb, alongside sesame oil, pippali, bilva, agnimantha, shyonaka, kashmarya and patali. It is a thick, dark, jam-like paste with a sharp-sweet, spiced taste that is unlike anything in Western supplements.

Fushi's directions are one to two teaspoons daily straight from the jar, or mixed into warm water or milk. In winter they suggest two.

Contains milk, from the ghee, so it is not suitable for vegans, and it contains sugar in the form of jaggery.

This is a food rather than a supplement, and it is meant to be eaten as one, which is much of its appeal. A 250g jar taken at a teaspoon a day lasts a good couple of months.

A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet.

Take 1–2 teaspoons daily straight from the jar. If preferred, mix with warm water or milk for a nourishing herbal infusion.

In winter, take 2 teaspoons for added nourishment. In warmer months, reduce to 1 teaspoon, as Chyawanprash is naturally warming for the body.

Traditionally taken on an empty stomach—ideally in the morning, 30 minutes before breakfast for optimal absorption.
