The number on the front is the daily amount, not the amount per capsule, which is worth being clear about.

Each capsule supplies 12.5 billion CFU of the Lab4 live bacteria consortium, and Proven's directions are two capsules a day, which is where the 25 billion comes from. Alongside the cultures each capsule carries 25 micrograms of vitamin D3, 80mg of vitamin C, 120mg of calcium, 15mg of zinc and 55 micrograms of selenium.

Vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc and selenium all contribute to the normal function of the immune system, and calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones.

Proven suggest taking it for one to four months depending on need, rather than indefinitely.

As a food supplement, for best results take two capsules per day with food for a period of 1-4 months, depending on personal need.
