This is the short-course option in Proven's adult range: fewer capsules, a higher count in each.

Each capsule supplies the Lab4 consortium, four named strains, Lactobacillus acidophilus CUL60 and CUL21, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis CUL34 and Bifidobacterium bifidum CUL20, in a vegetable hydroxypropyl methylcellulose shell.

Naming each strain by its CUL code rather than quoting a species list is the difference between a documented consortium and a generic blend. Strains within a species are not interchangeable.

Proven's directions are one capsule a day with food. They also advise on timing if you are taking it alongside antibiotics, which is worth reading on the pack.

Fourteen capsules is a fortnight, which is the point: this is built for a defined course rather than ongoing use. The 25 billion version in 30 capsules is the one for taking continuously, and works out cheaper per day.

The shell is vegetable rather than gelatin, so it suits vegetarians.

Microorganisms (Lactobacillus acidophilus CUL60, Lactobacillus acidophilus CUL21, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis CUL34, Bifidobacterium bifidum CUL20), Vegetable Capsule Shell (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Anti-caking Agents (Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate).

As a food supplement take one capsule per day with food. If using alongside antibiotics, ensure Pro-Ven Lactobacillus & Bifidus – 50 Billion is taken a minimum of 2 hours before or after antibiotic intake.
