Black seed oil is pressed from Nigella sativa, and this one is single-ingredient Egyptian oil with nothing else in the bottle.

Fushi cold press it rather than using heat or solvent extraction, which matters for an oil taken by the spoon as well as used on skin.

It has a long history across the Middle East and North Africa, where it is known as the blessed seed. Egyptian origin is the traditional and most sought-after source.

Fushi give two uses: one to two teaspoons daily with food, or drizzled over salad and blended into dressings. The taste is strong, peppery and slightly bitter, closer to a savoury oil than a supplement, and most people prefer it in food rather than straight.

Viridian make a black seed oil and a capsule version if you would rather not taste it at all.

Not suitable during pregnancy. Speak to your doctor first if you take prescribed medication.
