Camellia oil has been used in Japan for centuries, and this is the single-ingredient version: Camellia japonica seed oil from Japan, and nothing else.

It is a notably light oil, closer in feel to a serum than to the heavier plant oils, which is why it suits daily use on the face where something like avocado or castor oil would be too rich.

Fushi's directions are two to three drops on cleansed skin, morning or night or both. It works as a daily moisturiser on its own or as a night oil over other products, and it can be run through the ends of hair.

Traditionally it was used on both skin and hair, and it is still associated with Japanese haircare.

Single-ingredient oils are worth choosing when you want to know exactly what is going on your skin, particularly if you react to fragrance or preservatives. There are neither here.
