Toasting them lightly in the oven for a few minutes brings out a deeper, more rounded flavour and makes it easier to rub off their papery skins if you prefer them skinless for baking. Certified organic, vegan and gluten-free, with no added sugar, they suit most plant-based and refined-sugar-free diets. Store in a cool, dark place, or the fridge in warmer months, to stop their natural oils turning rancid.
