Organic Poppy Seeds have a distinctive nutty, slightly crunchy character that's most familiar in poppy seed bagels, cakes and lemon poppy seed muffins, where their tiny size adds texture without altering the flavour too much. They're also a traditional filling for Central European poppy seed cake and pastries once ground and cooked with milk and sugar, and work well scattered over salads or roasted vegetables for a subtle nutty crunch. Certified organic, vegan and gluten-free, with no added sugar, they suit most plant-based and refined-sugar-free diets. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, since their natural oils can turn rancid if exposed to light and heat over time.
