They're also a traditional filling for Central European poppy seed cake and pastries once ground and cooked with milk and sugar, and work well scattered over salads or roasted vegetables for a subtle nutty crunch. Certified organic, vegan and gluten-free, with no added sugar, they suit most plant-based and refined-sugar-free diets. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, since their natural oils can turn rancid if exposed to light and heat over time.
