Organic Tiger Nuts are, despite the name, a small root vegetable rather than a true nut, making them naturally nut-free as well as gluten-free — a useful snack for anyone avoiding tree nuts. They have a subtly sweet, chewy texture, traditionally soaked before eating to soften them, and are the base ingredient for Spanish horchata, a refreshing plant-based drink made by blending soaked tiger nuts with water and straining. Beyond drinks, they also make an interesting addition to trail mix once softened. Certified organic, vegan, gluten-free and nut-free, with no added sugar, they're a genuinely different snacking option. Soak in water for a few hours before eating for the best texture. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
