Organic Wheatgerm is the nutrient-dense embryo of the wheat kernel, separated out during milling and prized for its concentrated nutty flavour and naturally high fibre and protein content compared with plain flour. Sprinkle it over porridge, yoghurt or cereal to boost their nutritional value, stir it into baking for extra texture and flavour, or use it to add a nutty crust to fish or chicken before cooking. Because it contains natural oils, it's more prone to going rancid than plain flour, so it's best kept refrigerated once opened and used within a couple of months. As a wheat product, it does contain gluten, so it isn't suitable for a gluten-free diet. Certified organic and vegan, with no added sugar, packed in plastic-free packaging.
