Being split, they cook relatively quickly without any need to soak first โ just rinse and simmer until soft, usually 30-40 minutes. Certified organic, vegan and gluten-free, with no added sugar, they're an easy, low-cost way to add plant protein and fibre to a meal. Leftover soup or dhal freezes particularly well in individual portions for quick midweek meals. Store the dried peas in an airtight container in a cool, dry cupboard.
