MacuShield is the UK’S leading eye health supplement*. Developed in collaboration with leading eye experts, our MacuShield Original+ formula contains all three macular carotenoids; Lutein (10mg), Zeaxanthin (2mg) and Meso-zeaxanthin (10mg). MacuShield Original+ also contains vitamin B2 (riboflavin) which is scientifically proven to help maintain normal vision.
Research shows that the macular carotenoids - Lutein, Meso-Zeaxanthin and Zeaxanthin - are found at the back of the eye, in the macula. The macula is a sensitive part of the eye that is responsible for detailed, central vision. Here, the macular carotenoids form the macula pigment, which looks like a yellow spot at the back of the eye.

The body can’t make macular carotenoids, so we have to consume them in our diet. The macular carotenoids used within MacuShield are obtained from Marigolds (Tagetus Erecta), which have been specifically grown for this purpose.
