MGO 300 sits in the middle of the manuka range, and is the grade most regular buyers settle on.

The MGO number measures methylglyoxal, the compound used to grade manuka, in milligrams per kilogram. It is a direct measurement of a single compound, which makes comparison between brands straightforward, unlike the various proprietary scales. Roughly speaking, MGO 300 corresponds to UMF 10.

Pure New Zealand manuka honey is the only ingredient.

At this grade the flavour is clearly manuka, with the characteristic earthy depth, without the intensity of the 500 and above. It is strong enough to notice in tea and mild enough to eat by the spoon.

The 250g jar is the standard size, and the sensible one unless you get through manuka quickly. Manuka does not spoil, but a jar that sits open for a year is money resting in a cupboard.

Not suitable for infants under twelve months. Honey is high in natural sugars.

For Consumption

Straight from the jar: Enjoy 1–2 tablespoons daily to support your immune system or as a natural energy boost.
