Melora label this jar with both grading systems, which is helpful when the two scales are quoted interchangeably.

It carries 525+ MGO, which Melora state as equivalent to UMF 15+. MGO measures methylglyoxal directly in milligrams per kilogram; UMF is an audited composite of several markers. This is a high grade on either scale, and at the top of what most people buy.

Pure New Zealand manuka honey, produced and packed at source, with nothing added.

The flavour at this strength is intense, dark and resinous, with the bitterness that manuka enthusiasts look for and newcomers often do not expect. A teaspoon is plenty.

Melora also list 40+, 100+ and 300+ jars, all considerably cheaper, and the 300+ is the sensible middle if this proves stronger than you want.

Not suitable for infants under twelve months. Honey is high in natural sugars, and counts as a food rather than a supplement.
