Properties of Natures Aid Acidophilus Complex:
Lactobacillus acidophilus - the breakdown of nutrients in the intestines by L. acidophilus leads to the production of lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other substances that create an undesirable environment for the harmful bacteria. Also assists in the production of niacin, folic acid and pyridoxine.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus - inhibits the growth of the most harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract. It is used as a natural preservative in yoghurt and other dairy products in order to extend the shelf life.
Lactobacillus casei - has been shown to help encourage the growth of the other beneficial bacteria. L. casei has a wide pH and temperature range and compliments L. acidophilus well. It helps improve digestion and reduce milk intolerance and constipation.
