Acai berry is the small, purple berry of the Acai palm (Euterpe oleracea), a tree native to the Brazilian Amazon region. Acai berry has become very popular during the last few years, because of its high antioxidant levels. The broad spectrum of nutrition provided by Acai berry includes exceptionally high antioxidant content. Acai berry also includes a good supply of Omega fatty acids in the same ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 9 found in olive oil.
Rainforest Foods Acai berry is sourced from one of the world's leading producers (Sambazon). Its founders discovered Acai berry during a Millennium-eve surfing trip, and have since created a FairTrade-accredited supply chain that benefits thousands of local families, as well as protecting the Amazon rainforest through sustainable agriculture. A portion of all its profits is returned to the Amazon to promote education, provide health care and enable rainforest protection. This approach has won it major awards.
Originally a wild plant, the Acai palm is now cultivated by farmers in Brazil, where it grows under rainforest conditions. Acai berry is picked by hand from the topmost branches of the tree. Its high fat content means that it can go off rapidly, so it is rushed to a processing plant once picked. Here it is pressed to extract the fruit pulp. There are several ways to process Acai pulp, but the method which best preserves nutrients is freeze-drying - rapidly freezing the pulp then warming and depressurising it to vaporise the frozen water content. This is the processing method our suppliers use. The freeze-dried pulp is milled to powder form and packed for transport. It takes over 20kg of fruit to make 1kg of Rainforest Foods Acai berry powder.

We offer FREE Royal Mail Tracked delivery on all UK orders over £40.
Orders under £40 are charged £3.99 for Royal Mail Tracked delivery. There is no weight limit on UK deliveries.

Delivery is charged at £10 per kg and is calculated automatically at checkout.
Rest of the World
Delivery is charged at £15 per kg and is calculated automatically at checkout.

Please note that we cannot send liquids over 100ml outside the UK.
As international deliveries are handled by local postal and courier services, we cannot guarantee delivery times once your order has left the UK.
Dispatch Times
Orders placed before 12:00pm (midday), Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) are usually dispatched the same working day.
While we always aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible, processing times may be slightly longer during particularly busy periods.
Returns
If there is a problem with your order, please contact us by email within 7 working days of receiving it. We will provide a returns label and, once the item has been received and inspected, we will either issue a refund to your original payment method or send a replacement.
If you have changed your mind or ordered the wrong product, please contact us by email within 7 working days. We will be happy to arrange a refund or exchange. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item.
We provide free returns only where we have made an error with your order or if your item has arrived damaged.
To be eligible for a refund or exchange, all returned items must be unopened and in full resaleable condition.
All agreed returns must be received by us within 14 days of the return being authorised for a refund or exchange to be processed.
