Pycnogenol is a patented extract of French maritime pine bark, and only products containing the genuine licensed material may use the name.

Each tablet declares 40mg of Pycnogenol, alongside microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, tricalcium phosphate and magnesium stearate. Pharma Nord print the trademark holder and patent number on the label, which is a reasonable proxy for the material being the real thing.

Their dosing runs in two stages: two tablets twice a day for the first week, four in total, then one tablet twice a day thereafter. That front-loading matters for the arithmetic, because at the maintenance rate of two a day this 150-tablet pack lasts about two and a half months.
