Turmeric supplements vary enormously in strength, and the number on the front of the pack rarely tells you which you are holding.

Each tablet supplies 526mg of turmeric extract, standardised to 95% curcumins, delivering 500mg of curcumins. That standardisation is the figure to compare: ordinary turmeric root powder contains only around three percent curcumins, so plain powder is not equivalent to a concentrated extract, whatever the milligram total says.

It also contains 2.6mg of black pepper extract, providing 2.5mg of piperine. Piperine is routinely added to curcumin products because curcumin on its own is poorly absorbed.

Quest's directions are one tablet daily with food, swallowed with water.

We stock lower-strength turmeric from Viridian and Solgar if you want a gentler option, and Natures Aid combine it with ginger and bromelain. This Quest tablet is the most concentrated single-ingredient turmeric on the shelf.
