Folic Acid must first be converted to its active form by a series of biochemical steps before it is able to be used by the body. Metafolin® (L-methylfolate) requires no conversion because it is bioidentical to the bio-active form. In other words, it is ‘body-ready’. This can be useful for individuals whose bodies have difficulty converting folic acid to its active form. The active folate in this formulation promotes heart health. It also supports a healthy nervous system and the formation of healthy red blood cells.

Folate (as Metafolin ®) 400mcg, the body ready form of Folic Acid, is a B Vitamin which contributes to several processes within the body, but is best known for its support of maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.

Folic acid is a supplement which is advised to be taken by pregnant women and those trying to conceive. It can be found in different foods, such as dark green leafy vegetables, but to make sure you reach the adequate level of intake, especially before and after conception, taking a supplement is recommended.

Bulking Agents: (mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose), Anti-caking Agents: (vegetable stearic acid, silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate), Crosslinked Cellulose Gum, Folate (as calcium-L-methylfolate as Metafolin®).

As a dietary supplement for adults, take 1-2 tablets daily, preferably with a meal or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
