Arnica is the plant most associated with Weleda, and this oil is the simplest product in that part of their range.

The base is sunflower seed oil and olive fruit oil, carrying arnica montana flower extract and birch leaf extract, with a natural essential oil fragrance. The declared fragrance components, limonene, linalool, geraniol and coumarin, come from those oils rather than being added separately.

Apply to dry skin for massage, or to slightly damp skin if you want it to absorb more quickly. That damp-skin note is a genuinely useful tip and easy to miss on the label.

Weleda also make Arnica Massage Balm in 50ml, 100ml and 200ml. The balm is thicker and stays where it is put; the oil spreads further and suits a longer massage, which is the main thing to weigh up between them.

Sunflower and olive oils are unusual as a base here, where most massage oils use cheaper mineral oil.

Do not apply to broken skin. For external use only.
