Weleda medicines were developed by doctors practising anthroposophic medicine to provide an extension to the conventional medicines available to them. The anthroposophic approach to medical care is an holistic one, which aims to treat the whole person and not just the illness or symptoms.

The main aim of anthroposophic medicine is to stimulate the natural healing forces within the human being. It has developed from the initial work of Dr Rudolf Steiner and Dr Ita Wegman, which explored how man's soul and spiritual nature relate to the health and function of the physical body.

At Weleda, traditional manufacturing methods and ingredients go hand in hand with stringent quality control and modern pharmaceutical technology. Weleda licensed medicines are manufactured according to the highest GMP (Good Manufacturing Practise) standards. Advanced quality control processes and analytical techniques are employed, and purity and quality are scrupulously maintained using every advantage that modern technology can provide. As with the Weleda bodycare products, the very best natural raw materials are used and synthetic additives are avoided.

Avena Sativa Comp Drops:
A non-habit forming remedy aiding relaxation at night to help promote restful sleep after a stressful day. Can be used as a daytime remedy for relief of nervous tension, irritability, restlessness and edginess. Contains herbal sedatives including oats (avena sativa), valerian and passion flower.

Each ml of oral drops contains: mother tinctures of Avena sativa 0.25ml, Ext. solvent: Ethanol 62% w/w, Humulus lupulus 0.04ml, Ext. solvent: Ethanol 86% w/w, Passiflora incarnata 0.075ml, Ext. solvent: Ethanol 86% w/w, Valeriana officinalis 0.3ml, Ext. solvent: Ethanol 43% w/w and Coffea tosta 60X 0.15ml.
Also contains Ethanol (alcohol).

Adults from 18 years of age and the elderly:
For the temporary relief of mild stress symptoms:
15-20 drops in a small glass of water, three times a day.
To aid sleep:
20-40 drops in a small glass of water, half an hour before retiring to bed.
The maximum daily dose is 100 drops.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
