This is the powder version of Proven's children's formula, for children who will not take a tablet.

Each stick pack supplies 12.5 billion CFU of the Lab4 live bacteria consortium, 5 micrograms of vitamin D3, 50mg of vitamin C and 1000mg of fructooligosaccharides. Vitamin D and vitamin C both contribute to the normal function of the immune system.

The FOS at 1000mg is five times the amount in the chewable tablet version, which is the practical difference between the two formats beyond the obvious one.

Proven's directions are one stick pack daily with food, poured into a cold drink, sprinkled onto cereal or yoghurt, or taken straight from the sachet.

Twenty-eight sachets covers four school weeks, which is presumably the thinking behind the count.

There is also a chewable tablet version for children who will take one, though its vitamin content differs.

A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet. Speak to your doctor before giving supplements to a child on prescribed medication.

As a food supplement take one stick pack daily with food. Pour the whole sachet into a cold drink, sprinkle on cereal or yogurt or pour directly into the mouth.
