Digestive enzymes are taken with food and act immediately on that meal. They are not cumulative and there is no point taking them between meals – which is the opposite of how live cultures work.

Solgar's Digestive Enzymes and Advanced Multi-Enzymes cover the range. Take them at the start of the meal rather than afterwards.

The Dophilus products are live cultures, taken daily over a period rather than with a particular meal. Judging them after a few days tells you nothing; several weeks is a fair test.

Advanced Multi-Billion Dophilus is the higher-count option and Advanced Acidophilus Plus the everyday one. Check whether refrigeration is needed – the pack states it.

L-glutamine is an amino acid that turns up in digestive formulations and is also sold on its own. There is no permitted health claim for it, so we describe it and stop there.
